After last year’s third-place finish, this year our U13 team players stood on the top of the podium at the DAC CUP, held for the second time at the MOL Academy.

Once again, six football teams from six countries participated in the U13 youth tournament held on the weekend of May 25-26. Alongside the young players of DAC 1904, the tournament saw participation from Hungary’s ETO FC Győr, the Czech Republic’s Slavia Praha, Poland’s Legia Warszawa, Austria’s Austria Wien, and England’s Aston Villa.

Four of the six teams had already participated in last year’s inaugural DAC CUP, while Austria Wien and Slavia Praha’s age-group teams made their first appearance at the tournament. The event was filled with spectacular plays and intense battles. After the final whistle, the ceremonial evaluation took place, during which our academy´s trainees, coached by Norbert Farkas, stood on the top of the podium, ahead of ETO FC Győr and Austria Wien.

In preparation for the international sports event, the organizers did everything possible to ensure the children could play football under the best possible conditions. At the end of the two-day tournament, they returned home with unforgettable experiences. "The hard work of the academy’s 10 years is evident in the fact that these prestigious, traditional clubs accepted our invitation to the tournament. Based on the positive feedback, we can be proud of both the organization and our performance at the tournament. Winning the tournament is just the icing on the cake. More importantly, our regional team was competitive with the elite teams from Vienna, Prague, Birmingham, Warsaw, and Győr," said Krisztián Németh, director of the DAC Academy.
